HB 565 Signed Into Law: Keeping Families Together at Veterans' and Private Clubs

I’m excited to share that a bill I sponsored, HB 565, has officially been signed into law by Governor Kelly Ayotte on March 27, 2026!

Many families told us about situations at VFWs and other private clubs where children couldn’t come inside during community events because of liquor-license restrictions — even during very cold weather. That simply wasn’t safe or practical.

HB 565 fixes this.

Under the new law, anyone under 21 may enter veterans’ clubs, private clubs, and social clubs when accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, or adult spouse, or by presenting a valid military ID.

This common-sense change helps keep families together and supports the vital role our veterans’ organizations play in the community. I’m grateful to everyone who worked with me to get this done.
